Felt Food

Kid stuff is adorable to me!  Well, maybe not so much the plastic stuff...but I adore the old-fashioned wooden toys ~ and I've completely fallen in love with felt play food.

I love the cuteness of it, I love that it's plush and soft so kids can throw it without doing any damage...everything about it appeals to me...and it's growing so much in popularity that you can even buy it from the popular children's retailers like Pottery Barn Kids and Land of Nod.  I've even purchased some from Target and Walmart that's cute.  Most of the things I've bought were handmade from various mega-talented sellers on Etsy.

I guess you can tell from my posts that I'm all about custom kid stuff that isn't mass-produced.  In a day and age where everything comes from the same handful of big retailers, it's SO nice to make or find things that are unique and special.

My son LOVES it!  I picked up an old wooden picnic basket, embellished it with a cute little hang tag and some gingham ribbon and a matching gingham picnic "blanket" and he takes his stuffed animals on picnics all over the yard.

If you have a little one, you should definitely check it out.
Once you do, I think you'll agree that it's absolutely adorable!

  1. Adorable until the 50th time you've picked it up and realize there is only one poor sad little item left to the lovely little set. Destroyed by the grubby fingers of childhood :)

Nice to meet you.. Love your westie, we have a Cairn. He's a big ole baby.

  2. I love the felt food also. My little one got some for Christmas and she just loves playing with it. I also gave her a picnic basket and an old towel to use and she loves to sit in the living room and have tea parties with her dollies.

Kids are so cute to watch when they have there parties there imaginations are so wonderful. I will have to look on Etsy for the felt food so I can replace some of the things that need to be replenished here.

Hope you are having a great week.

  7. Oh wow, Judy. That is super cute!! Did you make all of that food? Did you hand-stitch it? I love it! I'm looking forward to making some more. I love the whole felt food movement, too. Although, I find that the kids' felt stuff collects a lot of dog hair and lint (I've also found, though, that I can throw it through the wash machine and dryer and it comes out good as new!)
